      We provide our client's with both non-infringement opinions and infringement opinions. Non-infringement opinions are often prepared when a client is accused of patent infringement by another company and, in our opinion, no such infringement exists. Infringement opinions are provided when our client is a patent holder and another company, such as a competitor, is infringing the client's patent.

      If necessary, we also initiate patent lawsuits and other matters related to patent litigation. In general, patent litigation in the United States is very expensive, and we usually focus on ways of avoiding patent litigation through mediation and "designing around" competitor's patented products. It is particularly important to work very closely with clients in infringement situations since the stakes are often so high.
